Opiates & Alcohol Detox in London
Alcohol & Opiates Detox in London, and Stabilisation Treatment. We use a medication detoxification for the Alcohol detoxification, and also commence with a Methadone Opiate detox, whichever the client has chosen.
The client is assessed pre-admission and again prior to commencing detox to determine what dose of medication is appropriate, based on the client’s withdrawal symptoms, height, weight and how much alcohol is being used.
If there is a medical reason for not using medication (e.g.the client has liver failure) our G.P’s will prescribe suitable alternatives.
Medication is used to safeguard against Alcohol withdrawal seizures.
In addition to the above, all clients admitted for an Alcohol & Opiate detox will have the following medication:
Medication daily for 5 days followed by more medication and Vitamin B co strong daily for the remainder of the detox period and for 2 weeks after discharge. Alcohol & Opiates Detox in London.
Pregnancy
All females are pregnancy- tested prior to any dose of any medication being given. If a female client is pregnant our G.P’s will be consulted prior to commencing any medications. A letter from the client’s Consultant Obstetrician will be required to confirm that it is safe to commence detox prior to the client’s admission.
In addition to the Medical Detoxification, depending on which centre you choose, all clients have the benefit of:
